'FOOD IS THE FIRST MEDICINE.' by Hippocrotes

Our pets are part of our family, too. We want the best for our pets and we know you feel the same way about yours.  That's why we promise to provide you with the most up-to-date research based information you need to make the best decision for your pets. We rely on veterinarian formulated products that are safe and healthy, inspired by nature and made using good science, and true all natural, organic products in a clean, healthy process.

It is just as important to know what is not put in your dog's food, as to know what is put in your dog's food.

AS OF DEC. 10, 2010: Americans stopped purchasing products marked made in China after the 2007 recalls and disclosure of their use of melamine plastic as a protein source in their dog foods and baby formulas. So companies stopped printing Made in China on their products. In order to protect our families, now we have to read bar codes to find the origin and source of our items. If the bar code starts with either a 69 or a 96 it was made in China. If it starts with 00 then it was made in the USA or Canada.

Your pet depends on you to make the right choices when it comes to his or her health and happiness. Dogs are genetically programmed to live to be 25 to 30 years old. Surprised? Yes, they have the genetic potential to live to 30. Yes, but you can make a difference to help prolong your pet's life.  They can't do that with chemically processed foods.

Just like we now know that all the processed foods are giving us all the cancers, the same thing with dog foods.

Don't feel guilty...you just didn't know what you didn't know. That is why we are posting the research and helping folks to start on the right track with their pet's healthy foods to help them live longer and healthier lives.

You can depend on us to do the in-depth research and dive into the data that is available, in order to bring you the newest and best information collected.

One of our goals is to educate people about their pets, the best foods to feed and the best

methods to train your puppy or dog.

Although you may think all pet food manufacturers have your pet's best interests in mind, this is not always the case. Current pet food regulations allow manufacturers to use ingredients that you would never knowingly give to your pet. In fact, you may be shocked to learn what some brands of pet food really contain. For example: the use of by-products (feet, bones and intestines, etc.), the 5 D's, (dead, dying, diseased, decayed, drugged), chemical preservatives that are known carcinogens such as ethoxyquin, BHA and BHT. And corn and other grains that are difficult tor dogs to digest (corn, wheat, glutens and soy), which are often used as a masked protein source, instead of real meat.

These grains are what cause most pets to have skin allergies; these are corn based allergens firom your pet's food, that you had no knowledge about.

I was shocked and disgusted when I first learned about how all commercially processed dog foods are made and their ingredients. I became an educated consumer wanting the best for my dogs. They say the most dangerous woman in the world is an educated mother. How true!

We grew up watching TV commercials of Pedigree and Purina dog foods. We did not know that Pedigree and Purina are made with dangerous ingredients and deadly additives that are literally bringing our dogs to an early and painful death. Please scroll down and take a few minutes to watch the video on what is in dog food. For instance, 72% of all Golden Retrievers will die of cancer. Some breeds are healthier than others, but our favorite family members need all the protection we can provide for them.

We have posted the veterinarian's formula to "How to Grade Dog Foods" below. If the food you use is not listed, refer to the list of ingredients on your dog's food bag and add or subtract to get the score of the food you are currently using. Hopefully you'll be pleasantly surprised, if not, then I suggest you change foods to protect your four-legged family members.

You can also order Life's Abundance if you like and they ship it directly to your door by UPS and its made fresh weekly and is natural, has no artifical preservatives, or dyes, no corn or wheat  glutens.  It does have chicken meat and fish meat, lots of great vegetables, fruits and probiotics. You can order small sizes of all the foods, cat or dog food.  Even with the shipping costs with UPS its still the same price or less than what you'd pay in Petsmart, Walmart or holistic dog barkery health stores. More information follows below.

FDA Warning to Purina Pet Food Plant

January 19, 2015 in Pet Food News3 Comments

The FDA issued a Warning Letter to a Purina Pet Food canning facility finding “significant deviations” from pet food regulations. Though no recalls have been issued, FDA had serious concerns about this pet food plant.

The

FDA Warning Letter

stated their inspection lasted for two weeks – from September 15, 2014 through October 1, 2014. Inspection revealed “that your facility has significant deviations from the LACF (low-acid can food) regulations.”

The inspection found that this Purina plant deviated from the required processing of the pet food – and further did not document the deviation (as required by law). The FDA Warning Letter stated “your firm did not provide documentation associated with the evaluation of the entire lot of product affected by the process deviation and did not provide documentation and/or the specifics of your corrective action plan in order to ensure that your firm will prevent these occurrences in the future.”

FDA also found temperature drop concerns with the pet food manufactured at this plant. Law requires canned pet food to be heated to specific temperatures and any variations of these required temperatures are required to be noted in a log. This Purina plant did not document the drop in temperatures.

FDA “observed” that the conveyor system in this plant did “not have adequate protection in place to prevent an unprocessed can” from ultimately reaching the consumer. An ‘unprocessed can’ of pet food would be an uncooked can of pet food – uncooked can of feed grade ingredients that could be full of dangerous bacteria. Purina responded to FDA they are in the process of correcting this issue, however FDA stated “We do not consider this response acceptable because you did not provide specifics of your corrective action plan in order to insure that your firm will prevent these occurrences in the future.”

The public FDA Warning Letter to Purina – posted on the FDA website – does not provide lot numbers of products involved. The only information consumers have is product names – listed below. All of these products are canned/moist foods.

Alpo Prime Cuts with Beef
Alpo Chop House Originals Filet Mignon
Alpo Chop House Originals roasted Chicken
Friskies Mariner’s Catch
Friskies Mixed Grill
Friskies Gravy Sensations with Turkey and Giblets
Friskies Supreme Supper
Friskies Indoor Chicken
Friskies Salmon Dinner
Mighty Dog Chicken Egg & Bacon Country Platter
Mighty Dog Chop House Originals Filet Mignon
Mighty Dog Lamb and Rice
ProPlan Senior Beef and Rice Entree

If you are feeding your pet one of these products – please pay close attention to your pet’s health. Should any illness occur, notify your veterinarian first, the FDA second. You can report a pet illness to the FDA here: http://www.fda.gov/AnimalVeterinary/SafetyHealth/ReportaProblem/ucm182403.htm

My daughter’s 4 year old indoor cat died from liver failure recently. He ate strictly Purina Indoor Cat Chow as well as Purina’s canned foods. I would like to know if there are any class actions suits against Purina because of all of the cat and dog deaths recently?

January 19, 2015 at 12:43 pm

Oh well FINALLY!! I think the FDA needs to check out the other plants-
This validates what I was shouting about that
flies are hatching from the canned food within minutes after opening. Had the food been processed at the temperatures needed the fly larvae would have been killed and it wasn’t. Also had this in Authority Kitten food.

This brings up so many questions. If the food is not heated up enough to kill bacteria- how about parasites and Protozoa?
Since we know that all animals carry the parasite for Toxoplasmosis – and we know all animals
are tossed into the pot at the rendering plants and pet food mfg. are these companies spreading -T-Gondi either in parasite form or Oocysts form?????

Class action on Purina’s Beneful harmful, deadly to dogs

Suit seeks more than $5 million in damages

Release Date: 2/23/2015

A California man has filed a class action lawsuit against Nestle Purina Petcare Co., alleging unsafe petfood manufacturing and distribution. The suit was filed February 4, 2015.

The plaintiff, Frank Lucido claims that Purina’s Beneful dog food injured his three dogs. He claims Purina added propylene glycol, an automotive antifreeze component, to Beneful. Lucido says two of his dogs suffered and one of his dogs died after ingesting Beneful beginning January 15, 2015.

The class action claims that the defendants have received more than 3,000 online complaints about their food making dogs sick throughout the past four years. In some cases, the dogs reportedly suffered internal bleeding, weight loss, dehydration and other symptoms. Many are symptoms of a poisoning.

The suit alleges negligence, misrepresentation, product liability and unfair business practices. The plaintiff is seeking more than $5 million in damages, plus costs and fees.

There is no law to protect the quality of our pet's foods. It is perfectly legal to have dead, dying, diseased or decaying putrid ingredients added to our companion's foods. The FDA needs to do more than just send a letter to large companies that are killing 3,000 to 5,000 dogs, 25 cats, 2 humans and several other small animals a year. This is not safe nor is it the right thing to do. The companies must be made to do the right thing.

DOG FOODS GRADED FROM A's to F's:

Further down the page we have posted the dog foods that have been graded by the veterinarian's associations. If youR food is not listed, there is an explanation of how to grade the dog food you are using by using their point system. All the best foods got an A, all the worst foods got F's and it lists the foods in between. Please scroll down or continue reading to become more informed about what we are feeding our pets.

Our favorite supplements we use are NuVet Plus: a super immune system booster as well as vitamins, minerals, short, medium & long chain amino acids, and enzymes needed to ensure a healthy body, digestive system and supports all body systems. It boosts their immune system for their lifetime support.

Get 50% off when ordering use code #26404 and call 1-800-474-7044

We have this on auto-ship discount and you can too. A bottle of 90 good sized wafers will last a puppy up to 7 lbs as they get only a half of one a day. Give a 1/4 in AM & 1/4 in PM. Once a pup is 8 lbs. they get a whole wafer a day, 1/2 in AM and 1/2 in PM. So one bottle lasts 9 months for one puppy, thats 270 days. Not bad for pennies a day for great health for a pup.

Noni juice for dogs, Canine supplement, it helps build stronger immune systems and great coats, and helps quicker recovery from weaning or illnesses. You can get that from www.morindagriculture.com

Canine Red Cell, liquid supplement for strengthening immune systems, working dogs, ill ones, lactating moms, or for boosting quick recovery from stress, or illness.  Also from jefferspet.com or revivalanimal.com or your local horse feed store.

Feeding Facts:

We use only the highest quality all natural, holistic dog foods available and you can too. It may cost the same, less or a little more per pound but you will be purchasing way less food in the long run. Don't forget these are small dogs who don't eat but one or two cups of dog food a day. We suggest 3 very small meals daily until 2 months old and then twice daily thereafter. Fresh clean water should be available at all times.

If a high quality food is used, you will find that Russells will never need a large quantity of food over their whole lifetime. Cheaper food just means more volume of food required and larger stools produced for you to pick up after.

We use Life's Abundance and when we need a softer food I may add their wet can foods, especially for the pregnant moms. We use all natural human grade foods. No processed chemicals added that cause cancer for our babies. We start with slightly wet and reducing over three days until they are eating it dry.

Make sure the first three or four listed ingredients on any bag, box or can dog food is not corn, but real meat, like beef, chicken or turkey. Not meat by-products which are scary: feet, hooves, intestines, tails, and other gross parts legally allowed, etc. I wouldn't feed my family or children anything other than the healthiest foods I could get, so my puppies are treated as equal family members for the healthiest food I can find.

"FOOD IS THE FIRST MEDICINE."   HIPPOCRATES

Daisy is our official ice cream taster. Was it the vanilla bean flavor?

Daisy licked both cartons, but then she ate the Mayfields box. Did Mayfields win?

Some of our past experiences in dog foods: In the past, 2005-2006, we had been feeding Iams & Eukanuba small breed puppy and lamb and rice small breed dog food. But they are still processing their dog foods commercially, which means chemical preservatives. The government lowered the amount of ethoxyquin to ppb (parts per billion) which is a known cancer causing agent. By lowering the ppb it falls below the maximum allowed by law and doesn't even have to be listed on the label! We should be warned that these poisons are still in our pet's foods. We do not use it anymore, needless to say. (If you would like more details on the pet foods we've used please call for a chat.)

Over the years we have tried several different kinds of dog foods and have switched to some of the new 'all natural' dog foods made with no preservatives now, and we feel switching to the all natural foods has worked best for our goal of the healthiest, happiest puppies and adult dogs. Unfortunately since many good companies were bought out by large conglomerates like Del Monte, Procter & Gamble, etc. the quality wis always sacrificed for better profits.

Since 2006 we've been using Life's Abundance, a  natural, meat and fish protein ingredients that are top 4-star quality. It is the same price, or in many cases, less than the pet stores, but is delivered to you by UPS. No more lugging it home from the store.

The dog's body utilizes food very efficiently and produces a significantly smaller stool, which tells us that their body is using all of the ingredients successfully.  Some holistic vets are trying the new dehydrated raw diets as dogs are originally carnivores and not corn eaters.

**If your dog is eating corn, and has skin allergies, and hot spots - that's where they are coming from, and where the incontinence problems are coming from. Get them off corn, wheat, corn gluten and wheat gluten to regain their healthy status. Switch to a better food and your dog will be healthier for it and thank you for better health. Just do the best you can with your family budget.

Dogs have the genetic potential to live 25 to 28 just like horses.  Yes!

It is only the commercially processed foods that shorten their lives. Just like we know all the sugars and processed foods we eat are giving us all the cancers, it follows suit with your dog. It is easier to control your dogs diet to keep him or her healthy. This will help ensure a longer and healthier life.

Life's Abundance is a natural and holistic dog and cat foods that are made with real meat and fish and vegetables and probiotics and prebiotics.

No artifical ingredients, no preservatives, and no additives.

No artificial flavors or colors. No corn or corn gluten. No wheat gluten. Just natural ingredients  made here in the US.

To go to their website for more info, get samples, and compare products go to: www.lifesabundance.com/Pets/PetsHome.aspx?realname=10112840

If you order on autoship, you pick when you want them to automatically deliver it to your door. You also get it at the wholesale cost vs. the retail cost. So you pay what I pay as a distributor. I have the small 3 lb. bags here free to go home with your puppy to get you started.

Guaranteed and veterinarian formulated for your pet.

Make sure whatever food you choose for your pet make sure it has meat or fish proteins listed as the first two ingredients, no corn or wheat products.  Make sure there's nothing in it that you wouldn't eat yourself. Make sure it is human grade with no carcinogens.

Dogs cannot digest grains, corn and wheat and glutens are the main causes of skin problems: allergies, lesions, etc.

Brands I can highly recommend:

 WE USE ONLY:

LIFE'S ABUNDANCE - veterinarian & family-owned, sources their own ingredients, high control

VICTOR - live in TX? another long time, family owned plant that has strict quality control.

THESE COMPANIES WE NO LONGER USE

INNOVA EVO *1-6-11, Natura is now owned by Proctor & Gamble = poor quality

NATURAL BALANCE by Dick Van Patten**just bought by DelMonte, to be off this list soon.

AVODERM - *downgraded after it was bought by another company and quality dropped            WELLNESS - a small company who rents big company machines = how it gets salmonella

CANIDAE

SOLID GOLD - small company who rents machines = how it gets salmonella & ecoli

PRAIRE

MERRICK

Please see our longer list of unsafe foods for your dog and puppy below.

Brands I would NEVER feed my dogs, either from my experience or research:

SCIENCE DIET (corn meal & chicken by-products MAIN ingredients) & plastics added twice.

IAMS/EUKANUBA (chicken by-product meal & corn meal) Known carcinogens - gov't allows ppb (parts per billion) so if its below a certain number it doesn't even have to be listed on the bag. To me its not a premium health food. To me its fraudulant advertising, its more like premium death food. Profit = poor quality.

NUTRO'S REGULAR LINE OF KIBBLE - all old formulas are inferior.

Anything from  grocery store brands, Pedigree, Purina, Pro Plan, Beneful, Kibbles & Bits are full of dyes, chemicals, carcinogens, etc. Beneful again this spring was found to be causing liver and kidney damage in dogs. This is 8 long years of poisonous food killing pets.

ANYTHING made by DIAMOND PET FOODS - THIS INCLUDES CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE PUPPY LOVERS SOUL LINE. It has been my experience that they have terrible quality control issues that are still not resolved 8 years later. We actually found preserved dead bodies of rats in the bags of puppy food. (Still have the photos to prove it.)

SELECTING YOUR DRY DOG FOOD -  If you had any idea where meat-by-products came from, you would never feed them to your pets.  Rendered animal parts, to be exact.  Otherwise known in the industry as; "The fiveD's" - Dead, Dying, Decaying, Drugged or Diseased.  I won't go into the details ...do your own research and see for yourself. Be prepared for some disgustingly true facts on how some commercial dog foods are prepared.

For instance, the chicken and meat rejected for human consumption is next offered to cat and dog food companies. Do you want to be feeding known carcinogens or diseased rejected meats to your family member? I think not.

DIETS TO IMPROVE AND PROLONG YOUR PET'S LIFE.

Nutrition - The Cornerstone of Health and Disease Prevention.

"Food is the first medicine." - Hippocrates

Dog foods we can highly recommend:

Life's Abundance at www.lifesabundance.com/dmsfitz

Eagle Pack Holistic Select   www.eaglepack.com

Artemis  at www.artemiscompany.com

Solid Gold at www.solidgoldhealth.com

Wellness at www.wellness.com

Canidae and Merrick are excellent foods also.

Pinnacle is also found at www.breeders-choice.com

Prairie and Wolfpack are new also and others, just make sure they are all natural or organic and naturally processed or cooked

** We can no longer recommend Natural Balance, it was a premium health food and another favorite. They are now owned by Del Monte, purchased in July 2013 - so the quality and safety are pitiful,  so they are no longer safe.

**We can no longer recommend Innova Evo, it was a favorite food. However in Jan. 2011 it is now owned by Procter & Gamble. So the quality of ingredients will not be expected to be a the same high quality levels as it was originally. So sad when companies put profits over our pet's health. We no longer recommend Avoderm as the quality has dropped to unacceptable levels and made our dogs sick.

I can strongly recommend you start your research on dog nutrition and overall health for your dog or cat. Do not make the common mistake of  believing the leading advertisers as to the content of their dog food quality. Check it out, read the small print. If they have chemical preservatives from processing then they still have ethoxyquin as an ingredient - which has been known to be a cancer causing agent for many years and is well known to cause cancer in dogs. We wonder why all adult and elderly dogs are getting cancer like humans? It's the chemicals used in processing their food.

Read the ingredient listing: if corn is listed first, then it is a poor quality, junk food. Find one that has meat listed as the first ingredient.

Do not believe the ads that show Purina or Pedigree or Ole Roy as a good quality dog food. Purina makes only two dog brands that have meat listed first, Purina One, which is still processed with chemicals. And Exclusive - the only one that is the all natural brand with no chemicals. Do your homework. Check the brands and read the small print.

Look for foods that contain all natural human grade ingredients for the best dog foods for your family member. DHA is a key brain-building nutrient for pets and humans. Look for Omega 3, 6 and 9, fish or fish meat, etc.

DHA is Docosahexaenoic Acid, a long-chain omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid DHA, found naturally in breast milk, is important for babies' neural development. Just like babies, a puppy's ability to learn depends on healthy brain development

A diet rich in DHA supports optimal brain development.  At 6 weeks of age, puppies have acquired only 70 percent of their adult brain mass. Neural development continues well into the postweaning period. Feeding a puppy a diet rich in DHA supports development of neural tissues for optimal cognitive function

DHA is the most abundant fatty acid in the brain, and has been shown to be critical for healthy growth and optimal neural development. Dogs experience their most rapid periods of growth during the first 6 to12 months, so during this period it?s critical to feed a puppy the right diet. Look for dog foods that contain the highest level of DHA for optimal brain development and a smart, trainable puppy.

Learn from experts in puppy nutrition. Visit the all natural sites  and make your decisions. Find a dog food that has the highest level of DHA, a key brain-building nutrient They provide important Antioxidants for a healthy immune system and targets six essential health functions for total body health every day

Who Controls The Dog Food Industry?

Unfortunately primarily LARGE corporations. Here are the BIG 5:

1. Nestle is the LARGEST dog food manufacturer  better known as the chocolate and candy maker Nestle owns Purina and controls over 30% of the dog food market. It just so happens that they are also a not well thought of corporate giant...they were encouraging mothers in 3rd world countries to feed formula and NOT breast feed for example.

2. Mars is the second largest, now owning, Nutro, Royal Canin, Pedigree, and even small Canadian Company Medi-Cal;they control approx 20% of the market. Mars is of course better known for making candy. And they were part of the large recall in 2007.

3. Then there is the MONSTROUS multinational company Proctor and Gamble- they own Iams, Eukanuba, and recently purchased Natura Pet Products making Innova, Evo, California Natural, Healthwise, Mother Nature and Karma. They now control over 15% of the market. P and G is of course better known for making ubiquitous consumer goods such as Pampers, Tide, Ariel, Always, Whisper, Pantene, Mach3, Bounty, Dawn, Gain, Pringles, Charmin, Downy, Lenor, Iams, Crest, Oral-B, Duracell, Olay, Head & Shoulders, Wella, Gillette, Braun and Fusion.

4. Colgate Palmolive - yes the makers of toothpaste and dish soap NOW own Hills Pet Products...think of Science Diet and their family of brands which has over 10% of the dog food market.

5. Del Monte- yes the company best known for Pineapples has nearly 10% of the Pet Food Market. They own Natures Recipe, Pounce, Meow Mix, Kibbles and Bits, 9 Lives, Jerky treats, and the well known dog treat Milk Bone.

----------------------------------------
So What's the problem?
----------------------------------------

Big companies are focused on profits, and increasing shareholder value first.

Let's use the Proctor and Gamble takeover of Iams Pet Foods as an example.

Iams and Eukanuba were very reputable brands of pet food over 10 years ago....then the company was sold to the BIG MULTINATIONAL P & G.

Shortly after this P & G. placed Iams/Eukanuba in the mass market of groceries stores, Wal Mart etc..

Dog owners started to notice changes..diarrhea, vomiting, hair loss, allergies- even though the company INSISTED there was no change in formulation.

P&G had a class action suit brought against them, and the lawsuit showed that they had reformulated the dog food ingredients substituting 'chicken by products meal' instead of real chicken, substituting bran sorghum/barley for rice, and then adjusting on its package instructions to reduce the per day servings by 25%"

The substitution of the lesser expensive ingredients and reducing the advised feeding amounts by 25% allowed them to be MORE profitable, but decreased the QUALITY of the food producing the health issues in the dogs.

----------------------------------------
So WHAT should you do?
----------------------------------------

My advice is to feed holistic, smaller companies food...try and AVOID the BIG Corporations.

You are about to discover the terrifying-truth about commercial dog food that kills thousands of dogs across the US every single day.

Any dog that eats commercial dog food is almost certain to die prematurely and by the time symptoms are noticeable, it's too late to prevent an agonizing death except by lethal injection.

On this page, I show you a simple solution proven to increase the lifespan of your dog by up to 100% and save you up to $10,000 in medical bills.

To discover these amazing secrets just continue reading and your reward is a super-healthy, incredibly-happy dog that stays by-your-side for up to 8.3-years longer than statistically predicted.

"Commercial Dog Food is Killing Your Dog,
Hear What The Experts Have to Say..."

The widespread disease and death of dogs from nutritionally inadequate and poison-laden commercial dog food is no secret in the world of vets and dog experts....

"Experts 'Come-Forward' About Commercial Dog Food Scandal.."

Leading dog-health author, Ann N. Martin, sums up the state of commercial dog food in a single sentence..

"Most commercial pet foods are garbage"

==========================

World-famous vet and dog-care author Alfred Plechner, says the poor nutritional properties of commercial dog food inevitably lead to disease..

"Because many commercial foods are woefully deficient in key nutrients, the long term effect of feeding such foods makes the dog hypersensitive to its environment. . . .

It's a dinosaur effect. [Dogs] are being programmed for disaster, for extinction.

Many of them are biochemical cripples with defective adrenal glands unable to manufacture adequate cortisol, a hormone vital for health and resistance to disease."

==========================

Debra Lynn Dadd, author of 'Home Safe Home' says commerical dog food company claims their product is a complete and healthy meal are false...

"Many pet foods claim to be "100% nutritionally complete and balanced." This claim legally can be made and printed on commercial products based on information studies using isolated nutrients and not whole foods

.. these tests ignore important nutritional issues and give ... consumers a false sense of knowledge and security.

There are more than forty known, essential nutrients... thus, making sure a food contains appropriate amounts of only a dozen of these nutrients can't possibly assure that a food is "complete."

WARNING: If you continue to feed your dog commercial dog food, death-by-disease is practically guaranteed! You must find an alternative and it doesn't have to mean spending more money.

"Dog Experts Prove, Balanced Home-Made Diet Increases Dog Lifespan By Up To 100%!"

Wendy and Jack Volhard are well-known & respected, 30-year dog training veterans. Wendy writes about how her dogs live to amazing old age through proper diet:

"We have made our own food for well over 30 years now, and our dogs are living longer and longer each generation.

Whereas the normal lifespan of a Newfoundland in 1998 was 6.2-6.7 years according to a national survey done by the Newfoundland Club of America, our dogs live up until 15 years of age."

-----------------------

So if you love your dog, drop everything, bolt the door and take the phone of the hook because this story is the 'wake-up call' that saves the life of your own beloved canine .

I pray you have not seen the following symptoms in your own dog..

"The Death of Your Dog Looks Like This.."

Slowly, I began to notice something unusual about Noble. He didn't have the same bounce to his step that he was famous for. At times he even seemed reluctant to go for our regular exercise, which was always the highlight of his day.

I dismissed it as him feeling a bit off or maybe a touch of laziness... but it didn't pass, in fact it got worse and then worse still.

I eventually took him to the local vet and was told his kidneys were failing and soon, he would be dead.

"But, but... he's so young, so strong, so happy... I don't understand, how could this be?"

Devastated, with tears welled in my eyes, I chocked back the urge to sob and listened for my vet's reply...

"The Next Words From My Vet's Mouth Flooded Me With Rage! He Said, 'Andrew...."He said..

"Andrew, I'm very sorry to tell you but Noble is dying.

"The preservatives found in the commercial dog food you feed him have destroyed his kidneys.

"He will be dead in 3 weeks, maybe 4 and it's too late to prevent it.

"You see, the major dog food companies fill their processed food with preservatives to increase it's shelf life and maximize their profits.

"They know these preservatives kill millions of pets every single year but without them, their profits would not be as large... and that is the bottom line..

"Andrew, Noble is dying for the sake of fattening company profits!".

[I later discovered through my own research, preservatives are not the only reason dog food kills dogs, more on that soon... you'll be outraged!]

Noble passed away in my arms from lethal injection at 3:46pm on July 23, 2003 - the saddest day of my life.

An innocent victim of dog-food poisoning.

PLEASE, don't let this tragic story become your own!

I've spent the past 3 years researching the truth about commercial dog food and proper canine health and nutrition.

This is the terrifying truth I discovered...

"Commercial Dog Food is Killing Your Dog Because.."

My own vet said commercial dog food killed my dog, Noble, because preservatives it contains caused his kidneys to fail.

In fact, through my own research I discovered dog food contains at least 6 deadly chemicals that have been banned from human foods because they cause:

        Kidney cancer

        Bladder cancer

        Skin cancer

        Stomach cancer

        Spleen cancer

        Leukemia

        Liver dysfunction

        Major organ failure

        Immune system collapse

        Severe allergic reactions

        Birth Defects

        Blindness

        Chronic Diarrhea

        Hair Loss and

Behavior problems, including increased aggressiveness --> very dangerous if your dog is around children

And if you think, like I did, that buying foods labeled as chemical and preservative free makes them safe, think again... it's just more lies!

'Chemical and Preservative Free' Labeling a Lie. Experts Expose Truth..

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and author, Henry Pasternak, rips back the veil of lies about dog food labeling..

"Many pet foods advertised as "preservative-free" do, in fact, contain preservatives.

..manufacturers don't have to list preservatives that they themselves did not add.

Many preservatives make their way into pet food at rendering plants before the meat is even sent to the manufacturer. An analysis of several pet foods labeled "chemical free" or "all natural ingredients" found synthetic antioxidants in all samples."

===============================

Henry Pasternak also reveals..

"Although you won't see it on the label, since it is often added at the rendering plant and not by the manufacturer, ethoxyquin (EQ) is used to preserve most dry pet food.

EQ is the most powerful of all preservatives and may be the most toxic.

The use of EQ is ... permitted in pet food.

...factory workers exposed to it exhibited side effects similar to those of agent orange:

  • a dramatic rise in liver or kidney damage,
  • cancerous skin lesions,
  • hair loss,
  • blindness,
  • leukemia,
  • fetal abnormalities, and
  • chronic diarrhea.

In animals, EQ has been linked to:

  • immune deficiency syndrome;
  • spleen, stomach, and liver cancers;
  • and a host of allergies."

=========================

Best-selling pet care author, Ann N. Martin, reveals why foods labeled as 'chemical and preservative free' are actually chock-full of deadly poisons...

"Before these animal parts and by-product used for pet food are shipped from the slaughterhouse to the rendering plant, the by-product is "denatured."

This means that crude carbolic acid, cresylic disinfectant, or citronella, is sprayed on the product."

WARNING: Stop believing the lies told you by vets representing the dog food industry... These multi-billion dollar companies are manipulating you! Let me show you how to escape.

Here's another dirty trick they pull on us and our dogs, it is shameful and deadly.. read on..

"Is Your Dog a Cannibal? Think Again.."

Prepare to be horrified.. (graphic photos were removed so children would not see them)

Your dog's food contains dead pets, mostly cats and dogs!

The city of Los Angeles alone, for example, sends some two hundred tons of euthanized cats and dogs to a pet food plant every month.

Not only is this immoral and disgusting... it's deadly.

The true horror is the drug used to kill these stray and abandoned animals, Sodium Pentobarbital, is not broken down by the manufacturing process and is still present in active form in your dog's food!!

And dog food companies don't stop with pets, your dog is also eating euthanized animals from zoos, animal control and putrid, decaying road kill.

All of these dead animals and other ghastly materials are processed until the portion left over for dog food production is a brown powder, which consists of ...

25% fecal matter - yes, 25% animal crap! [Author, Howard F. Lyman]

"Journalist Exposes Ugly Link Between Dog Food & Dead Pets"

Author and research investigator, Ann N. Martin discovers vets have known for years the dangers of feeding dogs euthanized animals but still it continues..

"This [using euthanized animals in dog food] can be problematic because sodium pentobarbital can withstand the heat from rendering.

For years, some veterinarians and animal advocates have known about the potential danger of sodium pentobarbital residue in commercial pet food, yet the danger has not been alleviated."

=========================

She continues on to reveal, not only is your dog eating dead pets, but he or she is also eating the collar, ID tags and plastic bags they are put in..

"It is not uncommon for thousands of euthanized dogs and cats to be delivered to rendering plants, daily, and thrown into the rendering vat?collars, I.D. tags, and plastic bags?to become part of this material called "meat meal."

WARNING: If you think your dog deserves better, it's your responsibility to act now before it becomes fatally ill. The solution is simple once you know how (and cheaper), that's what I'm going to show you.

That's a lot so far to take in, so..

"Let's Step Back For a Moment & Summarize.."

You've just discovered that these multi-billion companies, that bombard you

night-and-day with advertising intended to get your trust and make you believe they care about you and your dog....

.... are in fact taking your hard-earned money with one hand and passing you with the other, a deadly, nutritionally inadequate, dog-killing cocktail which includes:

Preservatives, known to inflict on our innocent dogs, horrendous diseases like multiple cancers, kidney failure, liver failure, immune system collapse and many more heartless ways to die.

The processed faeces (crap) of other dead animals.

        Putrid road kill.

The decaying carcasses of dead dogs, cats, zoo animals and animal control

The deadly poison, Sodium Pentobarbital, used the kill the animals mentioned above by lethal injection.

Pet collars, flea collars, ID tags and plastic bags

No more!!!

If you continue to feed your dog exclusively on commercial pet food, you are dooming them to a painful, traumatic death - an innocent death! And now that you know the truth, you too can be held responsible if you do nothing about it.

Here's the solution..

"This Is What You Must Do, Starting Today, If You Want Your Dog To Live.."

If you want to save your dog from the horrific death suffered by hundreds of other dogs in your local area, probably in the last year alone, then you MUST follow these 3 steps:

Step 1 - Stop using commercial dog food as your dog's only or main source of food. This step is the most important and you should make the change in the next couple of days.

But you can't make this change unless you have a good alternative plan in place.

I can show you a proven alternative plan, it's much easier than you think and much cheaper than you're spending now.

Step 2 - Learn how to read commercial dog food labels.

I understand it's not practical for most people to never use commercial dog food ever again. Although not best case, you can use it sparingly for maybe a few meals during the week.

The Grocery Manufacturers of America, the National Food Processors Association, and the Pet Food Institute join together and fight the FDA to keep the terms used as confusing and misleading as possible.

I learned how to decipher their deliberate 'double-talk' and I'll show you how to understand it too...again, that's coming soon.

By-The-Way --> I paid a professional field researcher $150.00 to gather confidential-intelligence on the 10 very best, ultra-healthy Commercial Dog Foods available in all of Nth America.

Using my strict criteria, she could only find 9 that met the super-high standards I set!

I call it my Guilt-reliever because for the first time ever, I can feed my dog commercial dog food (one of those found on the list) with ZERO guilt or worry about what it's doing to her body!

And now also for the first time I'm willing to share it with other dog owners.

Step 3 - Get some healthy, well-balanced dog food recipes and start feeding your dog home made food. I have a huge collection I'm happy to share with you.

It's very easy, if you know how to cook specifically for dogs. Just cook a large batch, freeze it and it can be eaten over several days.

But be sure you have a good source of recipes written especially for dogs because they have very specific requirements, different to humans.

It's possible to love your dog to death with too much of the wrong foods.

Author and veterinary doctor, John M. Simon, says overweight dogs are...

"at increased risk for musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, endocrine, respiratory, immune and reproductive disorders, including cancer."

The results of the research are on this list of the best, most healthy, organic and preservative free dog foods to be found in North America today:

Raw, meaty bones should be a part of their diet.  The size of the meaty bone is determined by the size of your pet's mouth. Don't cut them up - let them do the processing. Meaty bones are the dog's toothbrush and are vital to help prevent gum disease and overall sickness. Start at an early age after 6 months when their baby teeth have fallen out and their permanent teeth are all in.

Do not get confused and think we mean large knuckle bones or bones only. These can often cause tooth fractures and constipation as well as pose a threat as a choking hazard.  As with anything, monitor your pup when he/she is eating. Use Greenies only for adult dogs, use Greenies Smart Biscuits for your puppy.

*TIP*

FREEZE meaty bones - then thaw just before use. This will help kill many bacteria that could be harmful.  When feeding meats without bones, ALWAYS cook thoroughly.

A healthy, balanced diet is the key to maintaining optimum health and prevention of disease. We believe that fresh natural food along with a premium kibble (listed above) and supplements makes a healthy dog. We have been feeding this way for healthy dogs and puppies.

Our dogs do not have skin problems, intestinal issues, runny eyes or gas. They are not overweight, they have shiny coats and excellent muscle tone.  They have NEVER been to the vet with an illness.  Our litters are robust & healthy and our puppy mortality rate non-existant. Even first time moms who usually have 2 - 3 pups are having 5 -6 pups and the older moms are having 7, 8 and twice we had a litter of 9.

When we were feeding Iams and Eukanuba we were getting many stillborn babies and it is heartbreaking to loose them before they are born. Our dogs also were getting colds and runny eyes in the winter. Since the summer of 2004 we have switched to all natural and organic dog foods - the stillborns stopped immediately. What does that tell you?

Important advice when feeding bones:

1.)  Do NOT under any circumstances, feed them cooked bones! Cooked bones splinter.  Raw MEATY  bones are fine and good for them.  Supervise when eating bones or anything they may choke on.

2.)  Easy on the fruits, a carrot, a small apple, pineapple chunks or banana once a week would be fine.     Some dogs love fruit and some won't touch it. Do not feed citrus of any kind. Oranges are on the dangerous foods list also.

3.)   For your dairy source, use cottage cheese, goat's milk or whole plain yogurt.

4.)  RAISINS, GRAPES, ONIONS, and CHOCOLATE can be fatal.  They cause kidney failure.

PLEASE consider feeding your new pup as we do.  A great book to have on hand is; NATURAL HEALTH for DOGS & CATS by Dr. Pitcairn.  It is a realistic book combining conventional ideas with holistic/homeopathic remedies and suggestions.  Also contains a lot of information and recipes for a natural raw diet. Make the right decision for your beloved family pet and what is convenient for you. Make good decisions based on your own research. We will always be here to help.
